Governance and Board of Directors

Credit Union Baywide is a nonprofit organisation that strives for service over profitability.

Credit Union Baywide is nonprofit, however we are not a charity and must make sound financial decisions. We operate under a Trust Deed and are governed by the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982.

As a mutual financial organisation, Credit Union Baywide is democratically governed by its Board, which is elected from and by its customer-owners.

The Board is elected by, and is accountable to, our member-owners. The Directors are responsible for the overall corporate governance of Credit Union Baywide including its strategic direction, establishing goals for management and monitoring achievement of these goals. Their guidance is one of our secrets to success.
