About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a high calibre, commercially minded Chief Financial Officer, seeking a broad and challenging remit with a forward-thinking organisation.  Reporting to the CEO, as part of our Executive Leadership Team, this role will be based in our new state of the art offices in Hastings. 

The CFO will support our growth plans whilst leading the financial strategy including:

  • Strategic oversight and leadership of the Finance & Collections functions
  • Active management of funds, investments and assets
  • Guiding the business through its growth objectives with effective stakeholder relationship management, and identification of further growth opportunities
  • Supporting organisation wide development, as you lead a team of 30 staff and champion our core values
  • Responsibility for ensuring we maintain high standards of governance to meet our statutory and legal obligations. 
  • Involvement in key projects including securitisation, interest rate risk management and pathways to capital raising.

Your quality interpretation and commentary on financial reporting, processes and controls will enable you to provide strategic and commercial challenge to organisational decision making, providing the Board and leadership team with open, accurate and insightful reporting. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results in senior finance leadership roles with a proven ability to influence at board level
  • Proven knowledge of financial risk management techniques including market, liquidity and capital adequacy
  • Strong technical accounting background with substantial post-qualification experience (CA, CPA or equivalent) combined with a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or similar
  • Significant experience and success in leading people and change to achieve desired outcomes, preferably within the banking sector
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Pragmatic problem solver with a high level of commercial acumen

A thorough understanding of the banking/co-operative sector, including current knowledge of trends, risks and compliance, together with knowledge of consumer credit and lending practices is highly desirable.
